Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Larry Laffer!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Josh Williams!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Aleksandr Martynov and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laffer throws a leg kick
and Williams counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Laffer misses the shot to the body.
Williams tries to land a leg kick but Laffer saw it coming and moves away.
Horrible takedown by Laffer or perhaps it was just good defense by Williams which made him look bad.
Laffer throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Williams feints and then cracks Laffer's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Laffer down.
Williams tries to land a leg kick but Laffer saw it coming and moves away.
Williams connects with a looping right hand.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Laffer.
A bone on bone clash there as Laffer blocks the leg kick.

Laffer closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Williams's guard.

Laffer drops back, looking for a kneebar! Williams looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Williams looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Williams!

Laffer is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
It looks like Williams is going to stand back up.
Laffer is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Williams decides to return to a standing position.

Josh Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Williams fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Laffer looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Laffer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Williams throws a series of punches but Laffer moves out of range.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Williams connects with a body shot.
Laffer on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Williams. Williams obviously looking to wear him down.
Williams is looking to slow Laffer down with leg kicks.
Williams lands a two punch combo.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business.

Williams has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Williams cracks Laffer with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Williams connects with a single shot there.
Williams has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Laffer crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Williams - the referee stops the clock and Laffer gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Williams. Laffer manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Laffer on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Williams lands with an uppercut that bounces Laffer off the ropes and back into rage.

Laffer stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Williams.

A nice inside leg kick there by Williams. That's going to slow Laffer down.
Williams throws a combination. Laffer tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Williams lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Williams misses with the combination.
Laffer is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Williams lands a head kick. Laffer smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Williams dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Laffer. That did some damage!

Williams lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Laffer has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Laffer there as he acknowledges the shot.
Williams dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Laffer looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Williams throws a head kick that Laffer semi-blocks.
Williams fakes the leg kick and cracks Laffer in the body.

Williams uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Good exchange - Williams coming out on top.
Laffer takes a jab right on the kisser.
Williams looks for a left high kick but can't connect. Williams backs up to catch a breather... no he lunges forward with a huge flying knee that smacks Laffer's temple! It sends Laffer violently to the canvas! The crowd goes nuts as Williams celebrates and the doctors try to help Laffer!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Flying Knee). Josh Williams!
