The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hanssen keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Hanssen throws a series of punches but Hammar moves out of range.

Hanssen scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Hanssen prevents Hammar from improving his position.
Hanssen knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hammar on the ground.
Hammar is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Hanssen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hammar is just riding it out for now. Hanssen eventually gives up the hold.
Hanssen could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Hammar is looking for a sweep. Hanssen is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Hammar slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hanssen's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hammar looking for a guillotine here but Hanssen defends easily.
Hanssen would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hanssen is breathing heavily.

Hanssen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hammar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hanssen is fighting to break Hammar's control of his arms but Hammar is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Hanssen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hammar is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Hanssen frees his head nicely. Oh but Hammar has switched to an armbar! Hanssen is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
