Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Cisco Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Hettish (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Cisco Gomez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Fred Hettish!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Steve Smith and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hettish shoots for a double leg takedown but Gomez sprawls well. He's pushed Hettish's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gomez throws a right and a left that Hettish avoids nicely.
Hettish's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Hettish duly obliges.
Gomez misses with a combination

and Hettish counters with a nice double leg into side control. Gomez won't be happy with that.

Hettish decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Gomez throws a series of punches but Hettish moves out of range.
Gomez lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hettish circles away quickly and effectively.

and Hettish counters with a takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hettish tries for a kimura but Gomez is defending well.

Hettish tries to score with some ground and pound. Gomez controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Hettish has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Gomez throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

Hettish passes Gomez's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hettish wants to stand up but Gomez manages to regain full guard.
Hettish scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Hettish tries to free his leg and advance position but Gomez is retaining full guard.
Hettish trying to control the position from guard on top but Gomez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Hettish throws and elbow that misses. Gomez uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hettish's guard. Nice move by Gomez!

Gomez wanted to stand there but Hettish had control of the position.
Gomez is fighting to break Hettish's control of his arms but Hettish is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Fred Hettish has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Hettish shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Gomez's guard.
Gomez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Hettish gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hettish throws a lazy right hand but Gomez sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Cisco Gomez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hettish bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Gomez gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hettish to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hettish pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Gomez is keeping the position for now.
Hettish wants to control from the top but Gomez keeps moving.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hettish throws a strike but Gomez rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Gomez wants to sweep but no luck.
Hettish trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Gomez uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
Gomez throws a left and a right that both miss

and Hettish decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Gomez's guard.
Hettish sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Hettish working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Gomez's head.

Hettish sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Gomez's guard.

Hettish is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Hettish has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Gomez is trying to get back to his feet but can't.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hettish looking to control but Gomez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hettish putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Hettish lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Fred Hettish showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Hettish misses with a head shot. Gomez uses the momentum to regain guard.
Hettish stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gomez swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Hettish stands and throws Gomez's legs to the side, diving into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Hettish thows a huge punch but Gomez dodges it nicely.
Fred Hettish is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hettish moves nicely into side control.
Hettish wants to control but Gomez is keeping him busy.
Cisco Gomez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fred Hettish comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hettish has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
