Deal kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Megadeth - Countdown to Extinction. Hitty McPunch will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deal fails to land the takedown.
Deal looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Deal is trying hard to land a takedown here. McPunch sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

and McPunch counters with a crisp right hand that drops Deal! McPunch lets Deal back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
McPunch tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Deal counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McPunch looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Deal puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
McPunch keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
McPunch tries to kick Deal off but Deal keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Deal is stalling here. McPunch is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Deal seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and McPunch has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McPunch can do anything to dispel that myth.
McPunch avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Deal trying to control but McPunch is working from the bottom.
McPunch really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Deal. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McPunch preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Deal with a flurry of punches that miss.
Deal tries to free his leg and advance position but McPunch is retaining full guard.
Deal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as McPunch works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Deal wants to work for an arm triangle but McPunch is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Deal shoots in for a takedown but McPunch shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

McPunch has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Deal has passed into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Deal is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. McPunch knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Deal is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, McPunch has escaped the position, nice work there.
McPunch is not content to let Deal control the position.

Deal in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Deal trying to control the position but McPunch is working away.
McPunch is trying to get back to half guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Deal looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Deal thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Al Deal dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Deal shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has McPunch pinned against the cage. McPunch gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Deal gets a takedown into half guard.
Deal wants to lay and pray for a moment but McPunch keeps working.

Deal slows the pace down in half guard.
Deal trying to control from half guard but McPunch is working away.
Deal passes the guard and advances to mount!

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Deal working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. McPunch looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Deal! Submission of the night perhaps?
