Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andrew Hermiston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Travis Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hermiston comes to the cage accompanied by Rusty Cage. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Travis Miller enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Andrew Hermiston!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Travis Miller!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Miller shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Miller showed some decent athleticism there.
Miller controlling the action here.
Miller tries to stand and escape but Hermiston is controlling the position.
Miller throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Miller is controlling the pace.
Hermiston trying to control here.

Hermiston tries to get to full guard but Miller has control of the leg.

Miller stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.
Hermiston misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Miller circles away from the clinch attempt.
Miller throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Travis Miller seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Miller darts in and clinches Hermiston up against the cage.
With the fighters up against the cage, Hermiston throws an elbow but misses.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hermiston throws an elbow but it misses.
Hermiston tries for a takedown but Miller manages to get underhooks.
Miller lands with a short shot to the head.
Hermiston creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Miller trying to stall but Hermiston improves his position.
Miller is pressed up against the cage. Hermiston has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Miller down to the mat. Miller avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Miller closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hermiston to the mat! Hermiston manages to get full guard.
Hermiston wants to stand but Miller is controlling the position.
Miller trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hermiston's guard.
Hermiston preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miller stands up and waves to Hermiston to follow him.

Hermiston doesn't manage to clinch there - Miller circles away.

Miller avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Miller swats away the attempt to clinch by Hermiston.
Miller clinches but Hermiston breaks the clinch

and Hermiston counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

Hermiston trying to control from Miller's half guard. Miller has other ideas though and has regained full guard.
Miller pulls Hermiston in close to prevent any damage.
Hermiston stops Miller from standing up.
Hermiston has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Miller is proving hard to escape from.
Hermiston has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Hermiston gets to his feet. Miller looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Miller throws a leg kick that is checked

and Hermiston holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hermiston wants to break the clinch but can't.
Miller blocks an elbow strike.
Miller goes for a takedown attempt but Hermiston pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Hermiston closes the distance but Miller moves to the side

and Miller counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Miller slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Miller gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Miller drives through and clinches with Hermiston against the cage.
Hermiston wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Miller comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Travis Miller dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Miller decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Hermiston wants to get back to full guard.
Miller controlling the pace.
Let's hope that Miller has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Travis Miller has got the better of the ground game so far.
Hermiston pushes Miller off looking to stand but Miller dives back in and keeps control.
Miller frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Miller content just to control the position here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Miller looking to ground and pound but Hermiston is blocking nicely.

Miller lands with some strikes.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hermiston really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Miller tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Despite being in the dominant position, Travis Miller just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Hermiston has Miller pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Miller manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Miller gets underhooks to prevent Hermiston's takedown attempt.
Miller drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hermiston gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Miller lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Hermiston pushes Miller off and scrambles back to his feet.

Hermiston shoots for a double leg takedown but Miller sprawls well. He's pushed Hermiston's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Hermiston. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Miller closes the distance and clinches.
A bit of stalling here from Miller.
Hermiston scores with a nice hook to the head.
Hermiston has Miller pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Miller manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Miller is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Miller wants to pass the guard but Hermiston is defending well.

Travis Miller showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!


Hermiston will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hermiston has closed the distance and engaged Miller in a clinch.
Miller lands an uppercut.
Hermiston pushes off an throws an elbow but Miller leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Hermiston is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Miller comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Hermiston gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.


It looks like Travis Miller has been cut.

Hermiston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Hermiston misses with a double jab.
Miller on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Miller tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hermiston swivels and escapes.
Hermiston tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Miller counters with a one-two to the body.
Hermiston shoots in but no luck this time.
Hermiston clinches but Miller breaks the clinch

and Miller holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Hermiston throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Hermiston wants to get back to striking at distance but Miller won't allow it.
Hermiston drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hermiston lands an elbow inside that Miller shrugs off.
Miller keeps control of Hermiston as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Miller lands a right hand.
Hermiston is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Miller pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrew Hermiston. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Hermiston avoiding damage as Miller throws knees to the body.

Hermiston escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Hermiston lets loose with a powerful body kick. Miller will feel that in the morning.

Miller bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Miller has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Hermiston moves into range and clinches up with Miller.
Hermiston goes for a takedown attempt but Miller pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Miller feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Miller wants to get up but he can't break Hermiston's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Hermiston manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Miller manages to get himself to full guard.

Miller has his feet on Hermiston's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Hermiston throws a head kick but Miller moves out of range.

Miller clinches with his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
Miller landing some nice looking knees to the body.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Hermiston.
Hermiston fails to pull guard.
A shot in the inside from Hermiston.
Hermiston pushes off an throws an elbow but Miller leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Hermiston is working for takedown but Miller is calmly controlling the position for now.

Hermiston is trying to trip Miller. He has hold of a leg but Miller is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hermiston persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Miller tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hermiston wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.
Hermiston trying to stand up but can't free himself from Miller's guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miller has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Miller is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Hermiston is controlling him.
Miller is pulling down on Hermiston's head to control his posture.
Hermiston won't allow Miller to sweep him here.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hermiston throws a left and a right that both miss

and Miller counters with a shoot takedown. Hermiston fights it but they end up in guard.
Miller is standing up over Hermiston. Hermiston looks to escape but Miller dives into side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Miller stands up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Hermiston looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Andrew Hermiston has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

so Miller counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Miller stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Hermiston throws a sloppy head kick and Miller moves out of range easily.

Miller shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Miller looking to ground and pound but Hermiston is blocking nicely.
Hermiston tries to hold on but Miller postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Miller trying to control but Hermiston is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Travis Miller comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Miller winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
