Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Athrun Zala (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Totman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zala comes to the cage accompanied by Drowning Pool - Bodies. The crowd seem to be enjoying Totman's choice of entrance music: Operation Ground and Pound. Sam Totman acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Zala tries to clinch but Totman moves away
and Totman counters with a stiff right hand.

Zala shoots in looking for a takedown. Totman tries to sprawl out of it but Zala keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Totman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Totman makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!
Zala stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Totman with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Zala to score with a decent uppercut.

Totman is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Zala had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Athrun Zala seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Zala moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Totman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Zala's sensitive parts.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Zala connects with a nice short shot to Totman's temple.

Totman pushes Zala off and gets back to his feet.

Zala throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Totman was covering up waiting for the punch and Zala finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Zala is nestled in close to Totman, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Totman is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
