Oppenheim has chosen Fur Kaiser Gott Und Vaterland as his entrance music. Ecks Deidl has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ecks Deidl!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bruno Oppenheim!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Tarja Halkonen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deidl shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Oppenheim sprawls well. Oppenheim wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Deidl gets slowly back to his feet.
Oppenheim wants to clinch.
Deidl keeps the fight on the outside.
Deidl shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Oppenheim but Oppenheim pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Oppenheim swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Oppenheim jabbing away but nothing is landing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Deidl.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ecks Deidl. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Deidl tries to close the distance and clinch but Oppenheim swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Deidl just misses with a punch to the body.

Deidl gets a double leg takedown into Oppenheim's guard.

Oppenheim looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Oppenheim looking to hit a scissor sweep but Deidl is one step ahead there.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Oppenheim can do anything to dispel that myth.
Deidl prevents Oppenheim from getting back to his feet.
Deidl postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Oppenheim wants to sweep here but Deidl controlling him for the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Bruno Oppenheim wasn't active enough on the ground.
Deidl tries to score a power double leg takedown but Oppenheim sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Deidl somewhat.

Oppenheim clinches up with Deidl and pushes him back against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Deidl misses with a body punch.
Deidl jumps guard but Oppenheim stands there with Deidl around his waist. Deidl gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Oppenheim stalling against the cage.

Oppenheim breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Deidl uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Oppenheim.
Oppenheim fails to land with a series of punches.
Oppenheim looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Oppenheim slaps away a takedown attempt from Deidl, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Deidl tries to clinch up
and Oppenheim counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Deidl is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Oppenheim tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Deidl was well out of range. Poor timing from Oppenheim.

and Oppenheim holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Oppenheim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Oppenheim throws a low kick, looking for Deidl's leg but Deidl calmly moves out of range.
Deidl tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Oppenheim swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Oppenheim takes a swing at Deidl's ribcage but misses.
Ecks Deidl seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Deidl wants to clinch

and Oppenheim counters by moving into the clinch.

Oppenheim breaks from the clinch.
Oppenheim swings for the body but Deidl moves out of range.
Deidl chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Oppenheim can pounce on him.

Oppenheim has taken the fight to the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Oppenheim escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Oppenheim moves in looking to clinch but Deidl pushes him off.
Oppenheim misses with a wild combination.
Oppenheim throws a series of punches but Deidl moves out of range.
Oppenheim misses with a low kick.
Oppenheim misses with a telegraphed body shot

so Deidl counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Deidl trying to control but Oppenheim is working from the bottom.
Oppenheim has control of Deidl's left arm, preventing Deidl from doing any damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Oppenheim wants to sweep but no luck.
Oppenheim controlling the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruno Oppenheim dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.



Oppenheim closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Oppenheim breaks the clinch.
Deidl closes the distance looking to clinch

and Oppenheim moves into the clinch.

Oppenheim breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Deidl has a takedown stuffed.
Oppenheim is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Deidl rather than just go for the knockout.
Oppenheim moves in looking to clinch but Deidl pushes him off.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Deidl connects with a single shot there.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Oppenheim moves into the clinch.

Oppenheim breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Deidl tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Oppenheim counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Oppenheim.

Oppenheim pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Oppenheim goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Deidl shoots in and drives through. Oppenheim sprawls well.
Oppenheim misses the shot to the body.
Deidl moves to clinch but Oppenheim breaks away
and Oppenheim counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Deidl to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Oppenheim!
