The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meesters tries to score a power double leg takedown but Uchiha sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Meesters somewhat.
Uchiha decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Meesters gets back to full guard.
Meesters looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Uchiha wants to pass the guard but Meesters is keeping the position.
Meesters is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

It looks like Uchiha might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Let's hope that Uchiha has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Meesters is looking for a triangle but Uchiha pushes his legs off easily.
Meesters escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Uchiha gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Uchiha drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Uchiha as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Meesters screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Uchiha! Nice submission victory there!
