The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shakesphere misses with a right hand
and Boladao counters with a stiff right hand.
Boladao with a poor takedown
and Boladao takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

and Boladao counters with a nice double leg into guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rodrigo Boladao.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Shakesphere can do anything to dispel that myth.

Shakesphere pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Boladao back to the cage. Shakesphere follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

We're going to have a standup here because Rodrigo Boladao wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Shakesphere lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Boladao at a distance.

Shakesphere swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Boladao closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Shakesphere quickly recovers to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Boladao will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Shakesphere bucks up and tries to throw Boladao off but instead Boladao has got his back!
Shakesphere is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
