The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGill throws a looping overhand right but Pagliera ducks down to avoid it.
Pagliera misses with a low kick.

McGill shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Pagliera has his foot on McGill's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McGill works his way back into a safe position though.
McGill must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Pagliera wants to stand and escape but McGill is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

McGill postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

McGill stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Pagliera swivels though and keeps the full guard.

McGill is sitting in close to Pagliera's body. Pagliera has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! McGill is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, McGill is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Pagliera.
