Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Brookins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Bono Jones!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paul Aken and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones tries to sprawl but Brookins drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Brookins keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Brookins wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.
Brookins wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Jones uses the opportunity to regain full guard.
Jones looking to hit a scissor sweep but Brookins is one step ahead there.
Brookins wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Jones controls Brookins momentarily but Brookins frees himself.
Jones might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Brookins kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Brookins looking to pass the guard.
Brookins trying to control but Jones is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Brookins.
Jones doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Brookins counters with a single leg into guard. Jones didn't expect that.
Jones bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Brookins's guard.
Jones stops Brookins from standing up.
Brookins keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brookins looking to hit a scissor sweep but Jones is one step ahead there.
Jones seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Brookins striking off his back but it's not causing Jones any problems.
Jones stands up over Brookins, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Jones controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Jones gets to his feet - Brookins follows without any prompting.

Brookins closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jones manages to work his way to half guard, despite Brookins's best efforts.
Brookins is breathing heavily.

Brookins is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Jones has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jones moves into full guard.

Jones kicks Brookins off and gets to his feet.
Brookins will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jones lands with a kick to the ribs.
Mark Brookins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Brookins tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Brookins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Jones closes the distance and clinches.
Brookins stalling in the clinch but Jones improves position.
Jones tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Brookins's elbow.
The referee calls for Jones to work.
Brookins tries to break the clinch but Jones is controlling the position.
Jones goes for a takedown in the clinch but Brookins prevents it.
Mark Brookins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bono Jones.

Jones jumps into guard, dragging Brookins to the mat.

Jones is looking to sinch up a triangle. Brookins throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Jones's body to avoid the submission. Jones has instead reached around Brookins's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Jones arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Bono Jones!
