Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Larry Grant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Grant's entrance music is Diesel Power. A fine choice. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith feints and as Grant raises his hands in defense, Smith changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Smith trying to control but Grant is working from the bottom.
Grant wants to stand and escape but Smith is having none of it.

Smith decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Grant, up you get!

and Grant counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Smith thinking.

and Grant counters with a series of strikes. Smith will be more careful next time no doubt.
Grant feints a jab promting Smith to slip. Grant then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Smith slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Smith shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Grant but Grant pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Larry Grant has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Richard Smith.

and Smith takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Smith shoots in looking for a takedown. Grant tries to sprawl out of it but Smith keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Grant manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Richard Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Grant lands a hook that stumbles Smith back into the cage. Grant follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Smith to the canvas! Grant pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Smith has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
