Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Gabriel Flores!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A punch lands to the side of Jones 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Flores throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Jones dodges the punch combination from Flores.
Flores throws an off balance right hand
and Jones connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jones ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Flores moves away.
Flores falls off balance throwing a combination
and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Flores looks gassed!

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Flores moves out of range as Jones strikes.
Flores is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.
Flores slaps away a takedown attempt from Jones, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Flores tries to bench press Jones off him but Jones keeps the position.
Jones takes a little break here. Flores wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Jones seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Flores for as long as he can get away with.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Flores is not content to let Jones control the position.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Jones is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Flores has escaped the position, nice work there.

Flores prevents Jones from moving into mount.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Flores bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Jones catches Flores with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
A decent looking cross lands there for Jones.

and Jones counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Jones working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Flores is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Flores avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flores is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jones's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jones's back!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Flores has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.

Flores is breathing heavily.

Jones is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Flores gets his way!
Jones just trying to survive but Flores is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jones wants to control from the top but Flores keeps moving.

and Jones counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Flores is looking to control Jones's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Flores avoid being mounted?

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Flores throws a series of punches but Jones avoids them all with ease.
Jones takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Flores is pressing down on Jones's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Jones wants to control from the top but Flores keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jimmy Jones.

Flores throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Jones swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gabriel Flores is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Flores keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
