Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gerald Hodges (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Warren Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Adams comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bang Your Head kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Adams is trying desperately to land a takedown but Hodges is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Adams.
Hodges throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

It looks like Warren Adams has been cut.

Adams drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Adams prevents Hodges from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hodges lands a leg kick that knocks Adams off balance momentarily.

Hodges suckers Adams into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Hodges is now in Adams's guard!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Adams looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Hodges has picked Adams up and slammed him! Adams can't keep hold of the triangle and Hodges manages to pass to side control!
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

and Adams counters with a single leg into guard. Hodges didn't expect that.

Adams throws a strike aimed at the side of Hodges's head but Hodges avoids it well.
Adams tries to advance to mount but Hodges denies him.

Adams is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hodges knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Adams sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Hodges feints and then cracks Adams's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Adams down.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Adams crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Hodges - the referee stops the clock and Adams gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Hodges. Adams manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
