Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jim Lahey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goro Godzilla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lahey comes to the cage accompanied by Liquor & Whores. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lahey scores with a hook to the body. Godzilla takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Lahey tries to clinch but Godzilla is having none of it.

Lahey throws a leg kick which misses Godzilla's front leg but catches the back leg as Godzilla tries to avoid it.

It looks like Goro Godzilla has been cut.
Lahey stuns Godzilla with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Godzilla takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Lahey lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Godzilla sprawling to the canvas. Lahey follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Godzilla hang on?

Godzilla drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lahey dives on top into guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Lahey tries to bum rush Godzilla with a series of wild strikes but Godzilla uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Godzilla drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Godzilla is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Lahey takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lahey is working to avoid the ground and pound but Godzilla connects with a decent elbow.
Godzilla scores with a couple of short elbows.
Lahey is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Godzilla is controlling him well.
The referee asks Godzilla politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Godzilla prefers to stall for the moment though.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Lahey misses with a series of wild punches.

Lahey tries to close the distance and clinch but Godzilla swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Godzilla shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Lahey as he avoids it easily.

Godzilla bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Godzilla is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lahey is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lahey throws a head kick that half lands.

Godzilla is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Lahey defends it well.

Godzilla has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Lahey defend it? Godzilla steps over the head and cranks it - Lahey is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Godzilla!
