The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McCarthy jabs Querido right on the nose. Querido blinks but takes it well.
McCarthy takes a swing at Querido's ribcage but misses.
McCarthy cracks Querido with an open hand slap.
McCarthy cracks Querido with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Querido takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
McCarthy tries to kick Querido off but Querido keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Querido in particular looking to stall.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Pedro Querido hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A looping hook to the body misses from McCarthy. Querido does a little dance to reset his feet.
McCarthy slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Querido is trying hard to land a takedown here. McCarthy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Querido closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming McCarthy to the mat! McCarthy manages to get full guard.

McCarthy lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Querido head around and knocks him out cold! McCarthy hops onto the cage and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.
