Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Drago!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Artem Muhomorov!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Vladimir Khabensky.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Drago circles away from the clinch attempt
and Drago counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Drago thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Muhomorov holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Drago thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Muhomorov's head.
Muhomorov avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Drago.
Drago not landing any meaningful shots this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Muhomorov is refusing to be controlled, as Drago sits in half guard.
Drago throwing shots but Muhomorov is blocking nicely.
Drago looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Muhomorov with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Drago thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Muhomorov is looking for a sweep. Drago is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Drago missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
Drago trying to control from half guard but Muhomorov is working away.

Drago working over Muhomorov with some ground and pound. Muhomorov looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Drago throws a strike but Muhomorov avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Drago postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Muhomorov is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Drago, into his guard.
Muhomorov wants to get up but he can't break Drago's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Drago is looking for a triangle here but Muhomorov uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Drago is trying to work for a sweep but Muhomorov has mounted him!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drago tries to hold on but Muhomorov pushes him away.
Muhomorov controlling from mount.
Drago is wriggling around trying to escape.
Muhomorov blocks Drago's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Muhomorov content just to control the position here.
Muhomorov gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
Artem Muhomorov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drago is breathing heavily.
Muhomorov throws a jab but it's blocked by Drago.
Artem Muhomorov is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Muhomorov dips to his left and cracks Drago with an uppercut!
It looks like Ivan Drago has been cut.

Muhomorov with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Drago walks into a straight right, dropping him to the canvas! Muhomorov swarms him and finishes the fight with a hail of punches! What a brutal finish!
