Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Joao Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alves comes into the arena with Carl Orff - Carmina Burana - André Rieu's version blaring out of the sound system. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Matheus Dutra was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dutra tries to keep at a distance but Alves has taken the fight into the clinch.

Dutra gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Alves avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dutra.
Alves trying to control but Dutra postures up.
Dutra looks to land a strike but Alves avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Alves is trying to control the position but Dutra postures up.
Alves working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Dutra.
Dutra postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Dutra really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alves. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dutra throws and elbow that misses. Alves uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Dutra's guard. Nice move by Alves!
Dutra working a defensive guard but Alves passes into half guard.
Alves uses his free foot to push down on Dutra's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Dutra.
Dutra is trying desperately to improve position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dutra is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Alves swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
