Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dee Pain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kenny Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Pain comes to the cage accompanied by AC/DC - If you want Blood (You've got it). The crowd seem to be enjoying Smith's choice of entrance music: For Whom The Bell Tolls. On his way into the cage it seems that Dee Pain has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Dee Pain seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dee Pain!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kenny Smith!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pain shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Smith pinned against the cage. Smith gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Smith throws a lazy right hand but Pain sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Smith steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Pain.
Smith takes one to the chin there.


It looks like Kenny Smith has been cut.
Kenny Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Smith throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The fighters circling - Pain throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Smith lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Smith throws a lazy uppercut
and Pain counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Smith throws a leg kick

and Pain counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Smith keeping full guard, as Pain tries to pass.
Smith really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pain. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Pain throws a big right hand that misses.

Pain postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pain trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Pain looking to pass the guard.
Pain throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Pain trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom.
Pain tries to free his leg and advance position but Smith is retaining full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Pain is pushing down on Smith's leg trying to pass to half guard. Smith is fighting to maintain full guard but Pain has managed to sneak the leg through.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Pain missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pain is trying to control. Smith wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Pain tries to pass the half guard into mount. Smith knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Smith can do anything to dispel that myth.
Smith is refusing to be controlled, as Pain sits in half guard.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Smith controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Smith looks to throw the jab but Pain is out of range.
Pain misses with a looping left.
Smith swings widly with a right hand

and Pain counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Pain thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Smith's head.

Pain is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Smith trying to control here.

Pain trying to control the action but Smith is working from the bottom.
Smith has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pain is working away from the top position though.
Pain not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Pain is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pain moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pain takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
A low kick from Smith is predictable there
letting Pain counter with a right hand.
Pain takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Smith slips a jab and a cross from Pain.
Smith misses with a hook.
Pain misses the jab.
Pain lands a jab-cross combination.
Smith turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Smith slips under a jab.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Pain.
Nice uppercut there from Smith.
Pain takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Pain throws the left hand but Smith avoids the punch easily.
Smith throws a leg kick but Pain sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Pain takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Smith works Pain's body with a nice hook.
Pain throws an off balance right hand
and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pain is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Smith misses with an uppercut

and Pain counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Pain drops back looking for a leg! Smith is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Smith manages to kick Pain off! Pain jumps back into Smith's guard.
Pain forces his way into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Pain is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Smith sees it coming and defends easily.
Pain tries to pass to full mount but Smith defends it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pain lands with a punch from half guard.
Pain keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Pain tries to pass to full mount but Smith defends it.
Pain is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Pain is pressing down on Smith's thigh, looking to free his foot. Smith is holding on for now.
Pain thows a huge punch but Smith dodges it nicely.

Pain trying to pass the guard but Smith defending well.
Pain uses his free foot to push down on Smith's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Smith.

Pain moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Smith has worked his arm free - good work by Smith!
Pain tries to advance position but instead Smith slips a leg back in to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Pain works his way into full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Danga de danga de dang - Smith scores with a four punch combination!
Pain throws an overhand right that lands on Smith's shoulder, as Smith tries to avoid the shot.
Smith on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Pain misses with a looping left.
Smith fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pain jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Pain misses with a left hand
and Smith makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Smith scores with a leg kick.
Smith throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Pain stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Smith throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pain steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Smith.

Pain on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Smith looks to throw the jab but Pain is out of range.
Smith throws a nice outside leg kick.
Smith jabs Pain right on the nose. Pain blinks but takes it well.
Pain takes a swing at Smith's ribcage but misses.
Pain shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Smith as he jumps to the side.
A lazy left from Smith finds it's target.
Smith ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Pain gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Smith.
Smith misses with a double jab
letting Pain counter with a right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Pain shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Pain takes one on the button.
Pain chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Smith can pounce on him.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Pain.
Pain moves out of range as Smith strikes.
Nice defenses there by Smith.

Smith lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Smith swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Pain counters with a left to the body.

enabling Pain to counter with a crisp jab.

and Pain counters with a straight right hand.
Pain avoids the body shot from Smith.

Smith has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Pain's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Smith connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Pain scrambles back to his feet.
Kenny Smith seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Pain throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Smith loads up on a big right hand but Pain slips the punch.
Smith misses the shot to the body.
Smith throws the left hand but Pain avoids the punch easily.
Smith blocks a jab.
Pain fails with the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dee Pain. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Smith tries to bum rush Pain with a series of wild strikes but Pain uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Smith is not content to let Pain control the position.
Pain has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Smith is controlling Pain's trapped leg to prevent Pain from advancing to side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smith walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Smith limp body while Pain jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:21 of round 4, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dee Pain!
