Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Negrizolli (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rashad Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rashad Jackson struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 186.5lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Rashad Jackson acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rashad Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Thiago Cunha and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Negrizolli shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Jackson is trying to defend but Negrizolli finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Negrizolli is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jackson defends it well.

Negrizolli is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jackson is just riding it out for now. Negrizolli eventually gives up the hold.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Rashad Jackson hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Jackson perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rashad Jackson was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Jackson fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Negrizolli has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

That was a close round but I would say that Lucas Negrizolli will probably get the nod.

Negrizolli chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Jackson can pounce on him.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
