Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between LeBron Ames (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Tripper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Eddie Farnsworth and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tripper keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Tripper fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ames misses with a body punch
and Tripper counters with a series of strikes. Ames will be more careful next time no doubt.
Tripper is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Ames.
Tripper looks for the body kick but Ames saw that one coming.
Tripper throws a wild body kick that Ames sees coming a mile off.
Ames fails to land the takedown.

Tripper shoots for a double leg takedown but Ames sprawls well. He's pushed Tripper's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
LeBron Ames seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ames shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Tripper but Tripper pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ames ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ames no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Tripper drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ames manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Tripper has Ames in his guard.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ames ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
LeBron Ames is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Jack Tripper showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tripper pushes down on Ames's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Tripper seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ames does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Ames is staying active underneath Tripper, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jack Tripper hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Ames is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tripper sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
