The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Jones misses
and Mendez Jr connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

and Mendez Jr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Mendez Jr moves to clinch but Jones breaks away

and Jones counters with a single leg into guard. Mendez Jr didn't expect that.

Mendez Jr really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Jones. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
