Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malcolm Mason (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miel MM (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Malcolm Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Miel MM!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Ian Loll and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mason takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Mason tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. MM manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
MM swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mason misses the body punch
and MM counters with a three punch combo that has Mason backing up. Mason nods at MM to acknowledge the strikes.
MM shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Mason counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Miel MM has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Mason clinches.
Mason digs a right hand into MM's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on MM's gas tank.

MM has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Mason is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

MM changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Mason tries to avoid it but MM manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Mason to the ground. Mason escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from MM.

and Mason holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

MM tries to land a front kick but Mason steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

MM shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Mason sprawls well. Mason wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. MM gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

MM dives in and grabs Mason's left leg, looking for a takedown. Mason pushes down on MM's head and hops out.

MM is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mason manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Mason is pressed up against the cage. MM has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Mason down to the mat. Mason avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

MM shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mason as he jumps to the side.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Mason slaps away a takedown attempt from MM, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Malcolm Mason.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mason, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
