Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Moe Lester (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bret Hatton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lester comes to the ring accompanied by Little Girls. Hatton is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Bret Hart theme. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Moe Lester!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Bret Hatton!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Sano, Taro Takaoka and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lester gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hatton to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Hatton throws a strike but Lester rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hatton looking for a guillotine here but Lester defends easily.
Lester loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Hatton looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Lester avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Lester in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Hatton looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Lester has gone for a leg lock! Hatton slips out almost immediately though and dives into Lester's guard.

Lester working for a triangle but Hatton defends it easily.
Hatton lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Hatton thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hatton is looking to work some ground and pound but Lester has wrist control.

Hatton drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hatton jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Hatton wants to pass the guard but Lester is keeping the position.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Lester has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hatton has passed into side control.
Lester is looking for a sweep.

Hatton tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hatton has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Lester sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

Hatton not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Hatton thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Lester's head.

Hatton is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Lester is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hatton pulls his head out easily.

Lester wants to control but Hatton is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Hatton is working for a submission of some sort.
Hatton prevents Lester from improving his position.
Hatton has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Lester is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hatton pulls his head out easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Lester escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hatton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Lester working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hatton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hatton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Lester tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hatton wants to control from the top but Lester keeps moving.
Hatton sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lester's guard.
Lester wants to get back to full guard.
Lester trying to get back to full guard but Hatton takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Lester is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hatton landing strikes, looking to finish!
Hatton lands a big elbow.
Hatton looking to control but Lester is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Lester is looking to get to half guard.

Hatton goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Lester turns into him and now he's in Hatton's guard.

Lester in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Hatton looking to hit a scissor sweep but Lester is one step ahead there.

Hatton escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Lester gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Lester with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hatton is on top in guard.

Hatton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Lester is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Lester has escaped and now he's on top!
Hatton manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lester manages to get himself to full guard.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.

Hatton is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hatton slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Hatton thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Hatton is working Lester over with some ground and pound from side control.

Hatton creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Hatton drops back looking for a leg! Lester is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Lester manages to kick Hatton off! Hatton jumps back into Lester's guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bret Hatton dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the ring so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Hatton has his takedown stuffed
and Lester counters with a left and a right that stings Hatton.

Lester throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hatton tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lester is in Hatton's guard.

Hatton has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Lester is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Hatton.
Hatton manages to get back to half guard.
Lester lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Hatton desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Lester is thwarting Hatton's attempts to control the position.
Lester working over Hatton with some ground and pound. Hatton looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Hatton is trying to get back to full guard.

Lester looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The fighters are battling for position here. Hatton manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Lester tries to stand but Hatton is controlling from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lester accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Hatton is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Bret Hatton has got the better of the ground game so far.

Lester is sitting in close to Hatton's body. Hatton has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Lester is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Lester is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Hatton.
