Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Malo The Samoan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Samoan comes to the cage accompanied by The Samoan Song. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Mark Brown enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Malo The Samoan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Brown!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Luis Engracia and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Samoan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Brown attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
The Samoan throws a sloppy body shot
and Brown counters with a straight right hand.
Brown keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Nice sprawl there from The Samoan as Brown shoots in.

It looks like Mark Brown has been cut.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

and Brown counters with a shoot takedown. The Samoan fights it but they end up in guard.
Brown prevents The Samoan from getting back to his feet.
Brown passes The Samoan's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Brown lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Brown is looking to take a break and control but The Samoan is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Brown scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Brown throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. The Samoan was covering up waiting for the punch and Brown finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The Samoan is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but The Samoan is retaining full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Brown pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

The Samoan is in a horrible position here. Brown smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Brown has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Brown tries to control but The Samoan wriggling away.

Brown wants to finish this one by submission but The Samoan is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Brown.

Mark Brown showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Brown with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling The Samoan to score with a decent uppercut.

Brown shoots in and drives through. The Samoan sprawls well.
The Samoan defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Brown.
Malo The Samoan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Brown.

Brown closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brown lands in his opponent's guard.

Brown is trying to control. The Samoan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Mark Brown has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Brown turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
The Samoan walks into a left hand.
Brown displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as The Samoan throws out the jab.
The Samoan lands with a shot to the body.

Brown takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Brown closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into The Samoan's guard.

The Samoan escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Brown gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Brown tries to free his leg and advance position but The Samoan is retaining full guard.

Brown has gone for a leg lock! The Samoan slips out almost immediately though and dives into Brown's guard.

Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. The Samoan doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. The Samoan manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

And that's the end of the fight!
Malo The Samoan showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Brown has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
