The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnett fails with the takedown
letting Rumble counter with a right hand.

and Rumble counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

and Barnett takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Rumble paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Rumble throws a combination. Barnett tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Rumble lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Barnett is breathing heavily.
Rumble moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Rick Rumble is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rumble lands a leg kick that knocks Barnett off balance momentarily.
Rumble throws a head kick that half lands.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rumble scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Rumble stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Oh Barnett is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Rumble connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Barnett seems to have got his legs back now.
Rumble cracks Barnett with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Rumble, as that shot connected.

Rumble breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Rumble throws a good cross that connects.

Rumble feints a jab promting Barnett to slip. Rumble then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Barnett slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Rumble cracks Barnett with a right hand to the side of the head.
Rumble connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Rumble feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Barnett's calf.
Rumble connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rumble is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Barnett had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Rumble throws a left jab followed by a right to the body, Oh Barnett colapses and takes a barrage of punches from Rumble as he moves to mount! the ref stops the fight and Barnett is left battered and dazed whilst Rumble and his camp cheer!
