PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Stan TheMan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Zubersoft (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). TheMan comes to the cage accompanied by Get Up Again. Zubersoft has chosen Metallica - Enter Sandman as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
TheMan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Zubersoft throws a push kick but TheMan slaps the foot to one side.
Zubersoft tries for a takedown but TheMan circles away easily
and TheMan counters with a left to the body.
Zubersoft throws a combination that misses
enabling TheMan to counter with a crisp jab.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Zubersoft is defended easily by TheMan.
A swing and a miss from Zubersoft.
A jab lands there for TheMan.
Zubersoft feints a jab promting TheMan to slip. Zubersoft then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. TheMan slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Zubersoft moves to clinch but TheMan breaks away
and TheMan counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Zubersoft moves forwards but TheMan connects with a nice, crisp jab.
TheMan avoids the body shot from Zubersoft.
A looping hook to the body misses from TheMan. Zubersoft does a little dance to reset his feet.
A jab from Zubersoft finds it's way through TheMan's defenses.
Zubersoft gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and TheMan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Zubersoft had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. TheMan defends it easily.

TheMan is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
TheMan throws a combination. Zubersoft tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

It looks like David Zubersoft has been cut.
TheMan lands with a hook. Zubersoft tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
TheMan bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Zubersoft takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
TheMan throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Zubersoft stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
TheMan is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.

Zubersoft is looking to advance position but TheMan won't allow it.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

TheMan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
