Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rabbid Doge (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Fortez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Fortez's choice of entrance music: rat tat tat tat . We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Reed Andrews and Jorge Garcia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doge gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Fortez counters with a straight right hand.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Doge counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Doge throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Fortez is looking for a sweep. Doge is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Fortez fails with the takedown

and Doge moves into the clinch.

Doge is pushing Fortez up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Doge is breathing heavily.

Doge ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Doge no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Fortez is looking to work some ground and pound but Doge has wrist control.
Doge will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Fortez stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Doge swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Fortez trying to control the position from guard on top but Doge is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Doge working for a triangle but Fortez defends it easily.
Doge really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fortez stands up from Doge's guard - Fortez perhaps looking for a knockout.
Fortez shoots for a double leg takedown but Doge sprawls well. He's pushed Fortez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rabbid Doge has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joe Fortez.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Fortez.
Fortez darts in trying to clinch
and Doge counters with a head kick. That will keep Fortez thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fortez is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Doge enables Fortez to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Doge manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Doge will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Doge closes the distance and clinches.
Doge gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Fortez.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fortez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Doge fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Joe Fortez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Fortez dives in and grabs Doge's left leg, looking for a takedown. Doge pushes down on Fortez's head and hops out.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Doge in particular looking to stall.
Fortez regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Doge.

Fortez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Doge manages to get himself to full guard.

Doge is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fortez slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Doge stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Fortez swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Doge looking to sit in guard and control but Fortez gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Joe Fortez comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Fortez winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
