PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Baki Balboa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Arcinas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Baki Balboa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Antonio Arcinas!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arcinas displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Balboa.

Balboa closes the distance and clinches.
Arcinas has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Balboa is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Balboa ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Balboa no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Arcinas is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Arcinas won't allow Balboa to sweep him here.

Arcinas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arcinas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Balboa has control of Arcinas's left arm, preventing Arcinas from doing any damage.
Arcinas advances position into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Arcinas thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Balboa prevents Arcinas from moving into mount.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Arcinas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Balboa, who protects the arm well.

Arcinas is trying to get an arm triangle but Balboa is defending well.

Arcinas tries for a kimura but Balboa is defending well.

Arcinas is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Balboa has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Balboa is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Arcinas asserts his dominance and retains side control.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Arcinas tries to advance to mount but can't.

Arcinas tries for a kimura but Balboa is defending well.
Arcinas looks gassed!

Arcinas has hold of Balboa's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Balboa seems comfortable defending it but Arcinas has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Balboa is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Balboa is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Arcinas couldn't care less - he's delighted!
