Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kai Gi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Red Arcinas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arcinas with a poor takedown

and Gi counters by moving into the clinch.

Gi tightens his grip and picks Arcinas up, before dumping him to the ground. Arcinas manages to land in guard.
Gi has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Gi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Gi has gone for a leg lock! Arcinas slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gi's guard.

Arcinas drops back, looking for a kneebar! Gi looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Gi looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Gi!

Gi working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Arcinas is looking for a sweep.

Gi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Arcinas has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gi goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Arcinas rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Gi's guard! Nice work there by Arcinas!

Arcinas got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Arcinas has managed to get both his arms back between Gi's legs - danger averted.

Arcinas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Arcinas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Arcinas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Arcinas has Gi in his guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Arcinas escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Gi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Gi stands and throws Arcinas's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Gi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Arcinas has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Gi but great work by Arcinas.
Gi might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Gi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Arcinas gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Arcinas drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Gi manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Arcinas has Gi in his guard.

Gi manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Gi swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Arcinas is now in Gi's guard. A big mistake from Gi there, giving up the dominant position!

Arcinas keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gi's head.
Arcinas is looking to work some ground and pound but Gi has wrist control.
Arcinas throws a strike but Gi rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Gi moves into the clinch successfully.
Gi scores with a knee to the head.
Gi connects with a nasty looking knee right to Arcinas's face.
Arcinas has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
A nice glancing elbow lands by Gi.
Arcinas tries to pull guard but Gi holds him up against the cage and eventually Arcinas drops back down to his feet.
Arcinas jumps guard but Gi stands there with Arcinas around his waist. Arcinas gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Gi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Arcinas is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Gi throws a head kick but Arcinas moves out of range.

Kai Gi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Red Arcinas.

Gi pulls Arcinas into guard.

Gi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Arcinas is fighting to break Gi's control of his arms but Gi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Arcinas accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Arcinas postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Gi is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Arcinas, into his guard.

Arcinas has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Gi can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Gi is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Arcinas is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Arcinas has escaped and now he's on top!

Gi throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Arcinas escapes and throws Gi's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Arcinas tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Arcinas has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Gi is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Arcinas off and has taken his back!

That's time! Gi's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Gi throws a head kick but Arcinas moves out of range.

Gi's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Gi has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Arcinas is trying to keep an underhook but Gi manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Gi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Arcinas doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gi.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Gi has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Arcinas defend it? Gi steps over the head and cranks it - Arcinas is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Gi!
