PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Milo CroCop (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alezander Mataro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mataro has chosen i need a doctor as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Milo CroCop!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Alezander Mataro!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and .




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

CroCop tries to sprawl but Mataro drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Mataro with the ground and pound but CroCop uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Mataro seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
CroCop wants to stand up but Mataro is controlling him.
CroCop keeping moving, preventing Mataro from controlling successfully.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mataro looking to sit in guard and control but CroCop gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's one minute gone in the round.
CroCop working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
CroCop wants to stand and escape but instead Mataro has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Mataro is working CroCop over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Mataro has gone for a leg lock! CroCop slips out almost immediately though and dives into Mataro's guard.

CroCop avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
CroCop showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

CroCop wants to get up but he can't break Mataro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

CroCop trying to control but Mataro is working from the bottom.
Mataro trying to keep a closed guard but CroCop is proving a slippery customer.
CroCop wanted to stand there but Mataro had control of the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mataro fails to land the takedown.

Mataro throws a body kick the misses
and CroCop counters with a nice low kick that buckles Mataro's knee momentarily.
CroCop falls off balance throwing a combination
and Mataro counters with a two punch combo.
Mataro ducks under a wild hook from CroCop.
Milo CroCop seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Mataro feints and as CroCop raises his hands in defense, Mataro changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
CroCop knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mataro on the ground.
Mataro trying to control the position from guard on top but CroCop is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Mataro pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. CroCop is keeping the position for now.
CroCop keeping moving, preventing Mataro from controlling successfully.

Mataro with a flurry of punches that miss.
Mataro slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alezander Mataro.
Mataro tries to score a power double leg takedown but CroCop sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mataro somewhat.
CroCop throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
CroCop stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and CroCop wants it to stay on the feet.
Milo CroCop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alezander Mataro.
CroCop lands a jab-cross combination.
CroCop is breathing heavily.
Mataro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with CroCop but CroCop pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mataro dodges the punch combination from CroCop.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Alezander Mataro will probably get the nod.
That's time! CroCop's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

and Mataro counters with a nice double leg into side control. CroCop won't be happy with that.
CroCop is not content to let Mataro control the position.

Mataro working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
CroCop wants to get back to his feet.

Mataro lands a few punches from side control.

Mataro decides to stand back up.
CroCop throws a body kick the misses

and Mataro counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in CroCop's guard now.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
CroCop keeping moving, preventing Mataro from controlling successfully.
Mataro thows a big elbow that misses.
Mataro trying to control but CroCop is working from the bottom.

Mataro gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Mataro shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. CroCop defends it nicely.
CroCop throws a leg kick but Mataro moved away.
Mataro keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from CroCop.

Mataro shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts CroCop as he jumps to the side.

CroCop misses with a combination
and Mataro counters with a head kick.

A lazy body kick from CroCop
and Mataro counters with a stiff right hand.
Mataro tries to clinch but CroCop is having none of it.
Mataro shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as CroCop sprawls well. CroCop wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mataro gets slowly back to his feet.
Milo CroCop has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alezander Mataro.
Mataro shoots in and drives through. CroCop sprawls well.
CroCop fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mataro.
A chopping leg kick lands by Mataro.
CroCop throws a head kick that misses
and Mataro counters with an outside leg kick.

Mataro darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mataro seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but CroCop does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Alezander Mataro has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mataro uses his free foot to push down on CroCop's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for CroCop.
Mataro scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish CroCop?
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Mataro goes for an armbar but he's not got it… CroCop turns into him and now he's in Mataro's guard.
CroCop throwing strikes but missing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alezander Mataro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Mataro cracks CroCop with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Mataro will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
CroCop throws a sloppy head kick

Mataro not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Mataro wants to take a breather but CroCop is having none of it.

Mataro is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
CroCop is not content to let Mataro control the position.

Mataro is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Mataro takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Mataro is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from CroCop as he works his way to full guard.

Mataro drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and CroCop dives on top into guard.

CroCop gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A nice leg kick lands there from CroCop.
CroCop misses with a double jab

and Mataro counters with a shoot takedown. CroCop fights it but they end up in guard.
CroCop keeping moving, preventing Mataro from controlling successfully.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Alezander Mataro wasn't active enough on the ground.
CroCop throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mataro fails with a takedown attempt.
CroCop throws a right hand that Mataro ducks under and follows up with a left that Mataro also avoids with ease.

Mataro scores with a takedown into CroCop's guard.
CroCop is trying to control the position but Mataro postures up.

Mataro chips away with some ground and pound.
CroCop can't keep his opponent in guard - Mataro advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Milo CroCop has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Mataro uses his free foot to push down on CroCop's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for CroCop.

Mataro is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Mataro!
