And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johns throws a right hand that Poe ducks under and follows up with a left that Poe also avoids with ease.
Poe fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Johns keeps the fight on the outside.
Johns misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Johns tries to clinch but Poe moves away
and Poe counters with a body kick.
Poe throws the left hand but Johns avoids the punch easily.
No luck for Johns with that takedown attempt.
Poe moves into range and connects with a jab.

It looks like Tim Johns has been cut.
Poe throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Poe fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Poe is looking to clinch.

Johns bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Johns stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Poe blocks a leg kick.
Poe wants to clinch.
Johns looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Poe has his takedown stuffed

and Johns counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Poe's guard now.
Tim Johns has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edgar Poe.
Johns is breathing heavily.

Johns has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Poe is proving hard to escape from.
Poe is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Johns makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Poe working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johns doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Poe is tightening it up a little... Johns has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Johns reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Johns taps out! nice BJJ there by Poe!
