The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Helmet moves away.
Diaz waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Helmet.
Diaz takes a swing at Helmet's ribcage but misses.
Diaz just misses with a punch to the body.
Helmet throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Diaz looks to score with a jab to the body but Helmet is just out of range.
Helmet lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Diaz circles away quickly and effectively.

Diaz drives through with a takedown into guard.
Diaz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Diaz controls the position.
Diaz's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Diaz has hold of Helmet's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Helmet tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Diaz cranks the arm and Helmet screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Helmet, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
