PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Austyn Hoffman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Russell Bell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hoffman comes to the cage accompanied by Riot. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bell does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Bell scores with a three punch combo!
Hoffman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bell as he avoids it easily.

Hoffman feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It looks like Russell Bell has been cut.

Hoffman throws a strike but Bell rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Hoffman is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hoffman looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Bell with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hoffman stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bell swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Bell connects with a good right hand that stumbles Hoffman. Hoffman circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Bell tries to clinch up but Hoffman circles away and keeps his distance.

Bell throws a lazy right hand but Hoffman sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Bell fails with an attempt to clinch.

Bell lets loose with a powerful body kick. Hoffman will feel that in the morning.

Bell lands an overhand right.
Bell lands a nice shot that snaps Hoffman's head back.
Hoffman has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hoffman there as he acknowledges the shot.
Hoffman tries to move into range but Bell moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Hoffman is rocked!

A big right followed by a crushing left from Bell knocks Hoffman out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!
