Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lewis McMurray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Mortensen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mortensen has chosen La gazza ladra as his entrance music. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as David Mortensen enters the cage!

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mortensen feints and as McMurray raises his hands in defense, Mortensen changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Mortensen drops back, looking for a kneebar! McMurray looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. McMurray looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from McMurray!

McMurray thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mortensen jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as McMurray walks away with a smile on his face. Mortensen gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

McMurray can't do much from the bottom here.
Mortensen goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, McMurray has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Mortensen but great work by McMurray.

That was a close second round but I would say that Lewis McMurray will probably get the nod.

McMurray feints a jab promting Mortensen to slip. McMurray then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Mortensen slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
It looks like David Mortensen has been cut.
McMurray rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Mortensen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
McMurray misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Mortensen.
McMurray fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mortensen, pushing him back against the cage.
Mortensen tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McMurray smiles and moves away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
