PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Juan Rosillo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fredo Corleone (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rosillo comes to the cage accompanied by Skillet - Hero. Corleone has chosen The Godfather Waltz as his entrance music. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Corleone shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Rosillo defends it nicely.

Corleone instigates a clinch.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Juan Rosillo.

Corleone gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Corleone is just content to waste time from the top position. Rosillo takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Rosillo wants to stand but Corleone is controlling the position.
Corleone postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Corleone stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rosillo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Corleone prevents Rosillo from getting back to his feet.

and Corleone counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Corleone postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rosillo is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Corleone, into his guard.

Corleone is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Corleone shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Rosillo's guard.

Corleone drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rosillo manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Corleone has Rosillo in his guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
