The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sheilds throws a head kick that misses.

Sheilds bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Porter is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Porter is concentrating on defense, preventing Sheilds from advancing position.
Porter regains full guard. Nicely done.
Porter looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Curtis Porter.
Porter dodges the punch combination from Sheilds.
Sheilds misses with a straight right.
Porter tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sheilds sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Porter somewhat.

Porter avoids the body shot from Sheilds.
Sheilds throws a hook but Porter avoids it easily.
Sheilds misses with a head kick.
Sheilds throws a solid leg kick but Porter takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Sheilds.
Porter slips a straight right by Sheilds.
Porter with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Sheilds to score with a decent uppercut.
Sheilds smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Porter checks a leg kick.
Sheilds tries to clinch there but Porter circles away.
Porter ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sheilds tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Porter manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Sheilds throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
A nice inside leg kick there by Sheilds. That's going to slow Porter down.

Sheilds moves into the clinch successfully.

Porter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Sheilds pulls his leg out and moves away.
Porter slips under a jab.
A head kick misses from Sheilds.
Sheilds jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Sheilds just misses with a punch to the body.

Sheilds instigates a clinch.
Porter is working for takedown but Sheilds is calmly controlling the position for now.

Sheilds gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Sheilds shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Porter is fighting off a takedown attempt but Sheilds is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Porter to the mat. Porter regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Curtis Porter just wasn't active enough.

Sheilds rushes Porter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Sheilds has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Porter regains guard immediately.

Sheilds is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Porter is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Porter has escaped and now he's on top!

Sheilds is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Porter rolls with it to try and escape but Sheilds cranks on the arm and Porter is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
