Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Keith Ronald Kernspecht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tazz Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Keith Ronald Kernspecht!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Tazz Stevens!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Sosuke Kotani and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kernspecht looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Kernspecht fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Stevens, pushing him back against the cage.
Kernspecht tries to break free but Stevens pushes him back against the cage.
Stevens keeps control of Kernspecht as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Kernspecht manages to break the clinch.
Kernspecht displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Stevens throws out the jab.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Stevens swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

It looks like Keith Ronald Kernspecht has been cut.

Kernspecht lands a left and a right that send Stevens crashing to the mat, dazed. Kernspecht thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Kernspecht throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Kernspecht fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stevens sprawls well initially but Kernspecht persists and gets the takedown into half guard.


Stevens is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stevens wants to get back to full guard.
Kernspecht wants to stand but Stevens has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Stevens looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Kernspecht is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Stevens doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Kernspecht.
Stevens makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Stevens.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Stevens has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kernspecht can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kernspecht drops back looking for a leg! Stevens is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stevens manages to kick Kernspecht off! Kernspecht jumps back into Stevens's guard.

Stevens manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Kernspecht manages to get himself to full guard.
Kernspecht wants to stand and escape but Stevens is having none of it.
Stevens passes into half guard.

Stevens got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kernspecht has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stevens has managed to get both his arms back between Kernspecht's legs - danger averted.
Stevens tries to free his leg and advance position but Kernspecht is retaining full guard.

Stevens drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kernspecht looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kernspecht looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kernspecht!

Kernspecht has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Stevens!
Stevens is desperately trying to improve his position but Kernspecht has a good base and remains in mount.

Stevens sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Kernspecht stands up and waves to Stevens to follow him.

Kernspecht throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Stevens counters with a one-two to the body.

Kernspecht is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Stevens.
Stevens fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kernspecht manages to avoid it.
Kernspecht pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Stevens back to the cage. Kernspecht follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Stevens counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kernspecht's guard now.
Stevens slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Stevens drops back looking for a leg! Kernspecht is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kernspecht manages to kick Stevens off! Stevens jumps back into Kernspecht's guard.

Kernspecht pushes Stevens off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Kernspecht lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Stevens backs up against the cage.

Stevens throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Kernspecht defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Stevens.
Stevens wants to take Kernspecht's back here but Kernspecht is holding on to an arm, himself looking to escape.
Kernspecht tries to lock up and control but Stevens gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Kernspecht keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Kernspecht bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Kernspecht is looking for a triangle but Stevens pushes his legs off easily.

Kernspecht escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Stevens gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Stevens pushes down on Kernspecht's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Stevens has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

That's time! Kernspecht's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Stevens tries to bum rush Kernspecht with a series of wild strikes but Kernspecht uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Kernspecht defends a rear naked choke attempt by controlling one of Stevens's arms.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Stevens has his arm under Kernspecht's chin here. Game over son! Stevens squeezes tightly and Kernspecht is forced to tap out!
