Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Narcaleptic Arlovski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calico James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). James comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Duran Duran - Hungry Like The Wolf kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Calico James is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Narcaleptic Arlovski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Calico James!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James misses with a left hand
enabling Arlovski to counter with a crisp jab.
A looping hook to the body misses from Arlovski. James does a little dance to reset his feet.
Arlovski connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.

Arlovski throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and James counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Calico James wasn't active enough on the ground.
James swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Arlovski counters with a straight right hand.
Arlovski connects with a body shot that sends James's belly button to the back.
Arlovski throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Arlovski misses with a straight left.
James lunges at Arlovski with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Arlovski's hand.


It looks like Narcaleptic Arlovski has been cut.
Arlovski takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
James gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Narcaleptic Arlovski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
James gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Arlovski takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
James misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Arlovski.
Arlovski really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Arlovski does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
James looks to land a left hand but Arlovski moved out of range nicely.

and James counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by James.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Arlovski is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst James is controlling him.

James scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Arlovski keeping moving, preventing James from controlling successfully.
Arlovski wants to stand but James is controlling the position.
James postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
James not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
James stops Arlovski from standing up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Arlovski keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Good standup being displayed there by Arlovski as he connects with a hook.
Arlovski throws an overhand right that lands on James's shoulder, as James tries to avoid the shot.
James throws a lazy right hand but Arlovski sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and James counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arlovski is trying to stand up here but James is controlling him well.
James has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
James controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Arlovski is trying to escape back to his feet but James uses the scramble to pass into side control.

The referee asks James politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. James prefers to stall for the moment though.
Arlovski prevents James from improving position.
James is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Arlovski, who protects the arm well.
James advances to full mount.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calico James dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Narcaleptic Arlovski's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


A clash of legs there as James blocks the low kick.
Arlovski moves out of range as James strikes.

Arlovski shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
James wants to control but Arlovski is keeping busy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
James wants to get back to full guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. James manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Arlovski is looking to advance position but James has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, James cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
James wants to control the pace but Arlovski is squirming around nicely.

Arlovski is trying to stand up.

James looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Arlovski is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.

James is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Arlovski can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Arlovski really wants to buck James off and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

James lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Arlovski's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

James takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
James postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Arlovski badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of James around the waist but James pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! James is the winner by TKO! James jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Calico James!
