Becker comes to the cage accompanied by SERGIO ORTIZ LOWLIGHT - VOU TE VENCER SEU BUNDÃO. David Becker has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, David Becker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Sewell!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Becker throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
enabling Sewell to counter with a crisp jab.
Becker misses with a wild combination.

A jab-cross combination lands for Becker and sends Sewell crashing to the mat! Becker follows him down to the mat - Sewell regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!


Sewell is rocked!


It looks like Michael Sewell has been cut.
Becker is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Sewell is trying to escape back to his feet but Becker uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Sewell is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Becker asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Becker trying to control the position but Sewell is working away.
Sewell can't do much from the bottom here.

and Sewell counters with a straight right hand.
Becker is breathing heavily.
Nice sprawl there from Becker as Sewell shoots in.
Sewell closes the distance and clinches up with Becker, looking for a takedown. Sewell pushes Becker against the cage but Becker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sewell will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
David Becker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Sewell.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Becker enables Sewell to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Becker manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Becker goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

Sewell takes the fight into the clinch.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Becker takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Becker is trying to force a seperation but Sewell has the dominant position.
Sewell misses with the head strike.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Becker is trying to stall.
Sewell lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Becker trying to stall but Sewell improves his position.
Becker tries to break the clinch but Sewell is controlling the position.
Becker stalling in the clinch but Sewell improves position.

Sewell successfully pulls guard.
Becker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Becker wants to control from the top but Sewell keeps moving.
Sewell controls Becker momentarily but Becker frees himself.

Sewell pushes Becker off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Horrible takedown by Sewell or perhaps it was just good defense by Becker which made him look bad.

Becker will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Sewell counters with a single leg into guard. Becker didn't expect that.

Sewell tries to free his leg and advance position but Becker is retaining full guard.
Sewell slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Sewell throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
David Becker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Sewell closes this distance looking for a takedown but Becker circles away.
Becker stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Becker wants it to stay on the feet.

Sewell throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Becker was covering up waiting for the punch and Sewell finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Sewell goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Becker has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Sewell but great work by Becker.
