Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bogdan Vasiliev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Michael Trey!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Thiago Cunha and Seu Braga.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Vasiliev shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Vasiliev showed some decent athleticism there.

Vasiliev decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Vasiliev blocks the body kick.
No luck for Vasiliev with that takedown attempt.
Trey goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Trey keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Vasiliev changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Trey looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Vasiliev is staying tight to Trey's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The strikes coming from Vasiliev are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Trey tries to escape but Vasiliev is in control.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Vasiliev has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Vasiliev unloads with some shots from mount but Trey bucks and avoids them well.
Vasiliev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Vasiliev postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Trey looks a forlorn figure.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Vasiliev with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Vasiliev cracks Trey with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Trey looks gassed!
Trey's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Vasiliev controlling the pace for now.
Vasiliev fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Trey in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Vasiliev breaks from Trey's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Vasiliev tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bogdan Vasiliev dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Trey misses with a jab, cross combination.
Vasiliev misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Vasiliev wants to clinch up but Trey keeps it at a distance.
Vasiliev shoots in for a double leg but Trey sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Vasiliev shoots in for a takedown but Trey shows good takedown defense.

Vasiliev tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Trey paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Vasiliev feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Trey is looking to stand up but Vasiliev isn't so interested in that idea.
Trey is breathing heavily.
Vasiliev working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Vasiliev is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vasiliev prevents Trey from getting back to his feet.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Bogdan Vasiliev just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Trey throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Vasiliev.

Vasiliev closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Trey pushes Vasiliev away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Vasiliev gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Trey tries a head kick but it misses.
Trey swats away the attempt to clinch by Vasiliev.
Trey bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Vasiliev darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Vasiliev is tying to control. Trey wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Trey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vasiliev. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Vasiliev looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Vasiliev walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Vasiliev tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Trey swivels and escapes.

Vasiliev moves into range and clinches up with Trey.
Vasiliev tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Trey just stands there and leans against the cage.

Trey breaks from the clinch.
Trey throws a shot to the body.
Trey lands with a shot to the body.

Vasiliev fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Trey sprawls well initially but Vasiliev persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Trey is looking to escape.
Vasiliev seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Vasiliev is trying to control the action in half guard but Trey is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Trey looks like he's trying to stand up.
Trey is refusing to be controlled, as Vasiliev sits in half guard.
Bogdan Vasiliev overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Vasiliev moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Vasiliev wants to sweep here but Trey controlling him for the moment.

Trey decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Vasiliev, up you get!

Vasiliev takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Trey stuffs the takedown attempt from Vasiliev. Vasiliev gets slowly back to his feet.

Trey with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Trey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Trey looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Vasiliev has a takedown stuffed.
Michael Trey has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Trey looks to land a combination. Vasiliev sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Michael Trey seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nice takedown defense from Trey. No joy for Vasiliev on that attempt.
Trey Rushes Vasiliev and starts throwing punches like they are going out of style! Vasiliev is up against the cage and has nowhere to go. Trey Piles on the pressure and Vasiliev crumples to the floor! This one is all over!
