The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mayo moves out of range of the body kick.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hilga throws a body punch but Mayo moves out of range.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hilga throws a hook but Mayo avoids it easily.

Mayo drops back looking for a leg! Hilga is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Hilga manages to kick Mayo off! Mayo jumps back into Hilga's guard.

and Mayo counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Hilga thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Mayo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hilga swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Mayo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Hilga stops Mayo from passing to mount.

Mayo tries for a kimura but Hilga is defending well.
Hilga striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Hilga knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mayo on the ground.

Hilga tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mayo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mayo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Mayo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Hilga!

Mayo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hilga can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Hilga is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Mayo is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Mayo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hilga turns into him and now he's in Mayo's guard.

Mayo has his feet on Hilga's thighs here. He's pushed Hilga off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Hilga screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
