Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carl Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Duke Lighternot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lighternot has chosen Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap as his entrance music. Duke Lighternot has the eye of the tiger tonight.

With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Duke Lighternot!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lighternot circles away from the clinch attempt.

Lighternot is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Williams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Lighternot rushes Williams and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

and Williams counters with a three punch combo that has Lighternot backing up. Lighternot nods at Williams to acknowledge the strikes.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Williams throws a nice looking combination but Lighternot bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Williams lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Williams.
Williams scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lighternot doesn't seem bothered though.
Lighternot takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Williams looks to score with a jab to the body but Lighternot is just out of range.
Williams blocks a low kick nicely.
Williams works over Lighternot's head and body with a nice combination.


That has opened up Duke Lighternot's cut even more.
Lighternot looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Williams moves into range and connects with a jab.
Williams shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Lighternot but Lighternot pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Williams is looking to clinch but Lighternot is avoiding it.
Lighternot shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Lighternot is defended easily by Williams.
Williams scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Lighternot looks gassed!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Lighternot fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Williams sprawls well initially but Lighternot persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Williams regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Lighternot.
Williams has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Lighternot must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Williams is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lighternot is aware though and is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Lighternot.
Williams throws a combination. Lighternot tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Lighternot gets tackled into the cage by Williams. Williams maintains the clinch.

Williams keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lighternot's efforts to push away.

Williams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

and Williams counters with a series of strikes. Lighternot will be more careful next time no doubt.
