Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Brian O Malley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Berndt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
O Malley misses with a lunging right hand
and Berndt counters by clinching up.
O Malley is trying to push Berndt away but Berndt has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Nice elbow from Berndt.
Berndt missing with knees to the body.
O Malley blocks an elbow strike from Berndt.
Berndt tries to land a knee to the head but O Malley blocks with his arms.
With the fighters up against the cage, Berndt throws an elbow but misses.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Berndt just misses with a elbow thrown towards O Malley's brow.
O Malley avoiding damage as Berndt throws knees to the body.
Berndt misses with a knee strike.
Berndt misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from O Malley.
Berndt throws a knee to the head but misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Berndt throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Berndt tries to land a knee to the head but O Malley blocks with his arms.
O Malley blocks a punch to the side of the head.
O Malley wants to get back to striking at distance but Berndt won't allow it.
O Malley takes an elbow to the forehead.
Berndt tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and O Malley avoids it.

Berndt lands an elbow that stopped O Malley in his tracks for a moment.
Brian O Malley's cut is getting worse.
Berndt pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Berndt takes the fight into the clinch.
Berndt ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Berndt no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
O Malley looking to sit in guard and control but Berndt gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
O Malley is looking to stand up but Berndt isn't so interested in that idea.
Berndt gets to his feet. O Malley looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

O Malley thuds a left hand into Berndt's body.
O Malley is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Berndt.
Berndt takes the fight into the clinch.
Berndt misses with an elbow over the top.
Berndt using the Thai plumb to throw knees but O Malley has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Berndt comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
O Malley takes an elbow to the temple.
Jeez, Brian O Malley's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Brian O Malley's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
