PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John The Pitbull (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matt St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Pitbull comes to the cage accompanied by Three 6 Mafia - It's a Fight. St Pierre is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Territoire Hostile. Both these guys are coming into the fight with injuries so let's see if that has a bearing on the fight. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Pitbull tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
The Pitbull defends well against a solid takedown attempt from St Pierre.

St Pierre throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around The Pitbull's waist but The Pitbull gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing St Pierre off to one side.

St Pierre tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but The Pitbull paws at him with a jab and circles away.
The fighters circling - The Pitbull throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

St Pierre closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - St Pierre lands in his opponent's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John The Pitbull.
