Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jere Ruutikainen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruno Sotomayor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sotomayor has chosen Enter Sandman - Metallica as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruutikainen misses with an attempted mid kick.

Ruutikainen shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sotomayor manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Sotomayor is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Ruutikainen still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Ruutikainen has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Sotomayor drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ruutikainen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ruutikainen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ruutikainen!

That was a close second round but I would say that Jere Ruutikainen will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Sotomayor takes one to the chin there.

and Ruutikainen counters with a three punch combo that has Sotomayor backing up. Sotomayor nods at Ruutikainen to acknowledge the strikes.

Ruutikainen clinches.
Sotomayor is pressed up against the cage. Ruutikainen has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Sotomayor down to the mat. Sotomayor avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Ruutikainen feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Ruutikainen got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sotomayor has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Ruutikainen has managed to get both his arms back between Sotomayor's legs - danger averted.

Sotomayor pushes a forearm under Ruutikainen's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Ruutikainen is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
