The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crunch! Dumpy slams his shin into Aldo's torso.

Dumpy gets caught napping as Aldo dives in and scores a takedown. Dumpy manages to retain guard.

Aldo throws a big right hand that misses.
Aldo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dumpy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dumpy lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Aldo!

Dumpy jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Aldo manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Aldo is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Dumpy wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Aldo, who protects the arm well.
Aldo wants to get back to his feet.

Dumpy is trying to get an arm triangle but Aldo is defending well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Aldo can do anything to dispel that myth.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Dumpy tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dumpy has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Dumpy looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Dumpy is working for a guillotine from mount but Aldo frees his head quite easily.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Dumpy has control of Aldo's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Aldo regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Dumpy with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Dumpy has hold of Aldo's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Aldo manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
