Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Fernando Neto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Magatsu Taito (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Fernando Neto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Magatsu Taito!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A clash of legs there as Neto blocks the low kick.
Neto throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Taito sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Taito throws a big shot that misses.
Neto misses with a right hand

and Taito counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Neto preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Taito pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Neto is keeping the position for now.
Taito working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Neto is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Taito defends well.

Taito is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Neto is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Neto has escaped and now he's on top!

Taito is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Taito thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Taito keeping moving, preventing Neto from controlling successfully.
Neto works over Taito with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Neto sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Taito's guard.
Taito makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Taito.
Neto thows a big elbow that misses.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Neto got a little sloppy there for a moment and Taito has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Neto has managed to get both his arms back between Taito's legs - danger averted.

Neto slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Neto tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Taito is looking to reverse the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Taito manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Taito manages to get to full guard.
Taito is trying to control the position but Neto postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Taito manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Neto is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Taito lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Neto hang on?
Neto is wriggling around trying to escape.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Taito is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Neto to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Neto shrugs it off.

Taito jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Neto is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Neto and Taito has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Taito lands with an uppercut that bounces Neto off the cage and back into rage.
Neto scores with a punch to the head.
Taito shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Taito tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Neto swivels and escapes.
Taito tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Neto was well out of range. Poor timing from Taito.
Taito rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Neto to counter with a crisp jab.
Taito swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Fernando Neto seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taito swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Taito changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Neto tries to avoid it but Taito manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Neto to the ground. Neto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Fernando Neto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Magatsu Taito.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taito ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Neto moves away.

Taito keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Taito is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Neto throwing strikes but missing.
Neto has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Taito escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Neto gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Taito looking to hit a scissor sweep but Neto is one step ahead there.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Neto throwing strikes from guard but Taito blocks nicely.
Taito manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Neto manages to get himself to full guard.
Neto lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Taito!
Magatsu Taito has got the better of the ground game so far.
Neto cracks Taito with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Taito is trying to escape the mount.

Taito avoids a series of strikes thrown by Neto.
Neto tries to control but Taito wriggling away.
Neto fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Taito manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Taito has control of Neto's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Neto regains control of the situation pretty easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Neto misses with a left hand
and Taito counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Neto pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Taito lands a jab to the nose.
Neto throws out a leg kick but Taito moves out of range and Neto only half commits.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Neto.
Taito throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Neto stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Neto gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Neto escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Taito gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Neto tries to roll over but Taito keeps him under control.
Taito thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Neto wants to improve his position but Taito is controlling well.
Taito lands with a punch from half guard.
Neto trying to control here.

Neto is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Taito pulls his head out easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Taito looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Taito is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Neto avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Taito.
Neto tries to get to full guard but Taito has control of the leg.
Neto trying to hold on to Taito's head to control him but Taito postures up.
Neto is pressing down on Taito's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Taito trying to control the position from guard on top but Neto is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Neto can't keep his opponent in guard - Taito advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Taito is looking for a kimura but Neto is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Taito to get the leverage.

Neto tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Taito has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Neto is working to get back to half guard.
Neto gets back to half guard.
Taito seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Neto does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Neto looking for submissions off his back.
Neto is doing well to control the position and prevent Taito from advancing to side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neto trying to hold on to Taito's head to control him but Taito postures up.
Neto is in trouble now - Taito has advanced to mount!
Neto is desperately trying to improve his position but Taito has a good base and remains in mount.
Taito with a couple of short strikes.

Taito wants to finish this one by submission but Neto is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Taito.
Neto tries to hold on but Taito pushes him away.
Neto is in all sorts of trouble here.
Taito lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Taito with shots to the head and body - Neto looks very uncomfortable down there.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Neto wants to control but Taito is having none of it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Magatsu Taito comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Taito has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
