Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brook Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Laurent (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laurent has chosen Megadeth - Symphony of Destruction as his entrance music. Brook Brown has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Lou da Vinci and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laurent lands a nice looking body shot.
The fighters circling - Brown throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Brown shoots and misses
and Laurent counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Laurent fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Brown shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Brown stands and steps away. Laurent gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Brown dives in and grabs Laurent's left leg, looking for a takedown. Laurent pushes down on Brown's head and hops out.
Laurent has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Laurent bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Brown's head backwards.
James Laurent is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Brown tries for a takedown but Laurent sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Brown shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Laurent defends it nicely.
Laurent lands a really nice looking cross but Brown seems unphased.

Laurent connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Brown's hands.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Brown shoots in for a takedown but Laurent shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Laurent fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Brown looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
James Laurent seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Laurent closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Brown is rocked!
Laurent throws a 1-2 combo that connects squarely on Brown's jaw, knocking him onto his back! Laurent dives in looking to finish as Brown flails his arms in a desperate attempt to block Laurent's strikes! Laurent is raining down hammerfists and the ref stops it! Brown's desperate flailing just didn't constitute intelligent defence. Some people will probably question the ref's decision but Brown was definitely hurt and the ref saved him from taking unnecessary punishment. A fighter's safety is paramount in this sport.
