Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Brook Bonix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maury Levin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bonix comes to the cage accompanied by "Let It Roll". I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brook Bonix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Maury Levin!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bonix is looking to clinch but Levin is avoiding it.
Bonix moves in looking to clinch but Levin pushes him off.
Bonix shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Levin eats them both and turns towards Bonix to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Bonix is looking to score with low kicks.
Bonix tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Levin counters with a takedown into side control.
Levin trying to control the position but Bonix is working away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bonix manages to work his way to half guard, despite Levin's best efforts.
Bonix is trying is best to control the position here.
Levin perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Maury Levin was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Bonix.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bonix tries to clinch up

and Levin counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bonix's guard now.
Levin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Bonix is keeping the position for now.
Levin engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Levin wants to stand but Bonix is controlling his posture from full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Bonix is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Levin is controlling him.
Levin throwing strikes from guard but Bonix blocks nicely.
Bonix wants to get back to his feet but Levin is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Levin is pushing down on Bonix's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bonix is fighting to maintain full guard but Levin has managed to sneak the leg through.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Levin prevents Bonix from standing back up.

Levin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Levin throwing shots but Bonix is blocking nicely.
Bonix keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Levin looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Bonix throws an overhand right that lands on Levin's shoulder, as Levin tries to avoid the shot.
Bonix tries to clinch up but Levin circles away and keeps his distance.
Bonix throws a sloppy head kick and Levin moves out of range easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Levin showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Bonix.

Bonix lunges at Levin with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Levin's hand.
Bonix is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Bonix scores with a head kick. Levin tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Bonix moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Bonix throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Levin blocks a jab.
Bonix throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Levin decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Bonix's guard.

Levin thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Levin trying to control but Bonix is working from the bottom.
Levin prevents Bonix from getting back to his feet.
Bonix knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Levin on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Maury Levin.
Levin doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Bonix counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bonix trying to control but Levin is working from the bottom.

Levin has a closed guard, preventing Bonix from standing up.
Levin is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Bonix trying to stand up but can't free himself from Levin's guard.
Bonix wants to stand and escape but instead Levin has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Levin trying to control the position from guard on top but Bonix is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Bonix scores with a decent looking hook.
Brook Bonix is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Bonix tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Levin counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bonix won't be happy with that.

Levin goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Bonix has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Levin but great work by Bonix.
Levin gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Levin trying to control but Bonix postures up.
Levin gets full guard.
Levin controlling the position.
Bonix passes into half guard.
Bonix throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Bonix wants to stand up but Levin manages to regain full guard.
Levin is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Levin is trying to work for a kimura but Bonix is defending well.
Bonix is trying to stand.
Levin is trying to control. Bonix wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Levin is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Bonix!
Levin thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Levin can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bonix is looking to escape.

Bonix defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Levin.
Levin misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Levin looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Maury Levin has got the better of the ground game so far.
Bonix blocking the ground and pound.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Bonix sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Levin takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Levin trying to mount his opponent but Bonix defends it.
Bonix blocking the ground and pound attempt from Levin.
Levin is keen to just control but Bonix is a slippery customer.
Levin tries to pass to full mount but Bonix defends it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Maury Levin comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Levin has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
